Working within the steel industry since the early sixties, Charles Roberson envisioned a new company offering unparalleled customer relations and anchored by a friendly and knowledgeable staff. In 1984, he saw that dream come to fruition when he founded Friendswood Metals and Specialty Steel, Inc.

Family owned and operated quickly became more than just a token description. Without the detached hierarchy of a typical business, Charles was insured of having a well-versed staff, familiar with all aspects of processing customer requests, which could easily handle complicated specification interpretation and offer quicker turnaround than the competition.

Located in Southeast Texas, Friendswood Metals deal mainly in forged bar in large sizes, seamless rolled rings, and hollow bar. They proudly serve the oil, gas, petrochemical, machinery, industrial equipment, power generation and defense markets.

In 1984, Charles created Friendswood Metals and Specialty Steel upon the same family principles that, to this day, remain the backbone of an enterprise which sustains the Friendswood Metals organization. As President, he is instrumental in its growth, having expanded it from a small steel representation concern to its current state as a service center.

Pat Roberson

Chief Financial Officer

Pat was there from the beginning. Her influence helped make the company what it is now and she still is a cornerstone of its day-to-day operation. She heads up the accounting team, oversees warehouse activities and plays a key role in sales by preserving client relationships though communication, direction of personnel and follow-up.

Having worked for the business since 1995, she drives the daily interaction with with clients ensuring a first rate experience. She leads the sales team leads the sales team focusing on high-speed interaction, risk-free transactions, and industry leading rapport
